20871: Is energy regeneration taken into account in the calculations?
No, because it is a comparison size, not all vehicles have a feedback option (only modern electric vehicles) and it depends on the current system and the operating situation, whether one can use it.
This means that at the moment of the feed-back, either a further consumer or a sufficiently large energy storage device must be present, which can absorb the regenerated energy. For this purpose, the electrically fed mains supply must be so large that a different train is approaching straight ahead with a statistically sufficient probability or a different train current is needed precisely in the recovery phase (downhill train1) (travel uphill train 2).
Alternatively, energy could be fed back into the 50 Hz net, but this is problematic for 16-2 / 3-Hz rail networks (in addition, the question is about a customer in the country network). Further possibilities would be mechanical (flywheel) or electric (batteries) accumulators, which are still not applicable in railway operation - apart from a few cases of the acceleration of a dynamic converter or a turbine.
