20400: A train is to use the opposite track over a part of the runway in a two-track line. How can this be defined or mapped in FBS?

The mapping of counter-track runs in FBS is easily possible. The following steps are necessary for this:

  1. In the graphic timetable, open the train data for the train that you want to use the counter track.
  2. Select the section of the run on which you want to use the opposite track. Possibly you first have to create it. To do this, use the "Split route" function in the Summary tab and divide the existing route sections so that the required section is created.
  3. Open the register page of the desired route section. Under route specialties, you will find the option "in this section at the track of the opposite direction". Select it. The train now uses the counter track on this section.

When using the counter track, there are several things to consider:

  • This option is, of course, only available on double-track routes.
  • There must be a speed profile in the infrastructure of the route created for the opposite direction, since the speeds (control track, counter track) may be different. Please also note the FAQ with the ID 20574.
  • The speed of the switches should be stored at the transfer points, as these are usually significantly lower than the line speed. For this purpose, place "station tracks" in the infrastructure data at the transfer point with the corresponding speeds.
